Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to the information you give us when you join nomads.pizza on this website. It is written under Articles 13 and 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The data controller is Leonardo Rignanese, Italy. You can reach the controller about anything in this notice at nomads@leorigna.com.
What we collect
- Your answers on the join form: first name, email address, and, if you give them, last name, nationality, gender, type of work, work status, travel plans for Italy, places and services you are interested in, interest in the digital nomad visa, and any note you write.
- Technical data: the time you joined and the website that sent you here, if your browser reports it. Our server keeps your IP address in memory for about ten minutes to stop spam, and never writes it to disk or stores it with your answers.
Gender and nationality are optional. You can join without them.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To add you to the community and send you community news, guides and meetup invitations, about once a month. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given with the tick box on the form.
- To decide where to organise meetups and what to build next, using the answers of all members together. Legal basis: the same consent.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who else sees it
- Hosting: the site and the answers are stored on a server we rent from Hetzner Online GmbH, in a data centre in Finland (EU).
- Analytics and sign-up alerts: we use tgram-analytics, an analytics server we run ourselves. It counts page views without cookies and without storing your IP address or browser string: each visit gets an anonymous code that changes every day. When someone joins, our server sends it one "signup" event with the travel-plan answers only (when, how long, places, visa interest, what would help, time as a nomad). It never receives your name, email, note or nationality. tgram then sends us a Telegram message (Telegram Messenger Inc.), which may be processed outside the EU. Requests to the analytics server pass through Cloudflare.
- Email: when we send community emails, we use an email delivery service acting on our behalf. It receives only what it needs to deliver the email.
Your name, email and full answers are stored only on our server in the EU.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we close the community. If we close it, we delete the list.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw your consent at any time (Articles 15 to 21 and 7(3) GDPR). Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before. Write to nomads@leorigna.com. Every email we send also has a one-click unsubscribe link.
You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in your own EU country.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies. Our analytics (see above) do not use cookies and do not follow you across other sites. Your colour theme choice is saved in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us.
